Chris Harvey to retire as CEO of BGC London after 14 years of service

A message from Chris Harvey

After more than 14 years with the Club, I will be stepping away from my position as CEO on September 6th.

I want to thank everyone who has helped make the Club such an important place in people's lives. For many, the Club is an essential part of the community. All of this is possible thanks to such a great group of people who believe in what we do. It's been a pleasure to work for and be part of such an amazing organization.

It's been rewarding to be part of the team and help grow the Club over the years. We've evolved and adapted to be sure we continue to meet the needs of those who rely upon us.

Thank you everyone for a wonderful experience. I know the Club going forward will continue to thrive.

All the best to all of you,

Chris Harvey

A message from the Boards’ Chair & President

After 14 years of leadership at BGC London, CEO, Chris Harvey announced he will be retiring as CEO of BGC London on September 6th, 2024. We are eternally grateful for Chris’ leadership and guidance, and his unwavering commitment to BGC London and the community.

It is no small feat for what Chris has done over the years as the CEO of such a reputable and well-established organization, affectionately known as “the Club.”

His leadership and support to the Club’s staff team lead to the development of new programs at the Club, like the Digital Creative Arts Centre, and youth programs in rural communities.

Chris strengthened the Club’s community ties, fostering partnerships with local organizations and businesses to enhance the services offered. He prioritized mental health initiatives, ensuring that programs are in place to support the emotional well-being of members, staff, and their families.

Chris has been a vocal advocate for the community's needs, working to secure funding and resources to support the Club’s mission. During his tenure, many capital improvements were made, including the replacement of the Club’s gym floor which led to increased program offerings such as Pickleball for older adults through the Horton Street 50+ Centre, and Next Level Sports’ leagues.

As a result of Chris’ accomplishments, BGC London is ready to support future generations of Club kids and older adults “young-at-heart.”

Please join us in thanking Chris for his contributions and wishing him all the best in his future endeavours.

Sincerely,

Todd Morris, Chair of BGC London’s Board of Directors, and Paul McQueen, President of the Boys and Girls Club of London Foundation
