London Aviation Day
This May 31st, BGC London and Aviation Partners are joining forces to plan an extraordinary and engaging event:
London Aviation Day! It's a fantastic opportunity for children to immerse themselves in the thrilling world of aviation, combining play, exploration, and learning in one day.
We have packed the day with exciting activities from 10:00am to 2:00pm at multiple locations.
This is a drop-in/doors open event. Families can come anytime*.
*Registration is required for the activities happening at the TVDSB Aviation School. please see details below
There is also a chance to win a basket full of goodies including a Blue Zone ticket (up to 6 people) for Airshow London. To enter into the draw please fill out this short survey.
Airport Tour - YXU
London International Airport - YXU will be giving visitors a behind the curtains experience of the airport:
Tour 1 - 10:00 am
Tour 2 - 11:00 am
Tour 3 - 12:00 pm
Tour 4 - 1:00 pm
The tour will show:
insights into airport operations,
brief history of London Airport, and
a glimpse into the world of air travel
BGC staff will be setup in the terminal at YXU to warmly welcome families and offer insights into our organization's array of enriching programs tailored for children and youth. Our team will also host a selection of aviation-inspired activities designed to spark creativity and fun for the young ones!
Free Parking and Entrance Information:
Parking is available in the main lot, and validation cards for free parking can be picked up at the BGC London information table in the terminal.
Guests participating in Aviation Day activities can enter the terminal through the Arrivals doors.
Jet Aircraft Museum
Jet Aircraft Museum (JAM) will be open for all to explore and learn in depth about aviation. There will be experts to answer all the questions and satisfy the curiosities of the growing minds.
There will also be a chance to get a cockpit experience in a T33 cockpit ($2 per person) and two levels of flight simulator (education simulator and advanced simulator).
Education Simulator
Age 10 and above
$5 for 20 minutes
Advanced Simulator
Age 14 and above
$20 for 30 minutes
Thames Valley District School Board Aviation School
Thames Valley District School Board Aviation School will enhance the day with more in depth activities based around flights and aviation including:
sheet metal dog tags
3D printing
basic electronics
flight simulators
radio use
theory of flight exploration using wind tunnel
The activities are catered to the age group 8 to 14 years old. TVDSB will be able to accommodate up to 15 people every hour and each member of the group will have the chance to participate in a variety of stations listed above.

The Secrets of Radar Museum
The Secrets of Radar Museum will also be open with their guided tours and self guided tours around their museums to learn about the Secrets of Radar. Here’s a brochure or The Secrets of Radar Museum to have a quick look at what you can learn about and explore there.
Come join us this May 31st from 10:00am to 2:00pm for an aviation themed Kids 1st Day.
This is a self guided day, you can take the bus, drive, or walk to explore attractions the way it’s convenient for you.
Only Thames Velley District School Board Aviation School requires pre-registration.
